These self-portraits by Vivian Maier.
Born in New York of a French Mother and Austrian Father, Maier spent most of her youth in France. Returning to the US in 1951 to work as a nanny. As a leisure, she started taking photos, consistently documenting her daily life over the course of five decades.
In 2007, John Maloof bids on and wins a batch of more than 100 000 undeveloped photo negatives. Mostly shot in New York and Chicago, these shots were Vivian Maier's, turning out to be one of America's first "street photographers".

This picture of Les Halles.
This area of Paris has such a bad reputation in terms of architecture. It's sort of tacky/70s/wannabe modern ... but this picture makes it look really nice.
